Be More Quokka.

Say hello to the wonderful City Quokka. A deal-driven city guide helping people get off the sofa and out living their best lives. Our goal was to create a brand that feels like your most extroverted friend—full of joy, curiosity and useful recommendations. I partnered with this early-stage startup from the ground up, leading the full brand strategy and identity development, defining the brand’s positioning, tone and visual world.

At the heart of the brand is a story about our cheerful quokka mascot on a mission: to help people find joy in everyday adventures. For those not in the know, quokkas are adorable Aussie marsupials known for their permanent smiles and boundless curiosity—often dubbed “the happiest animal on Earth.” With their infectious energy and photogenic charm, they were the perfect fit for a brand all about joy, optimism and having fun.

We developed the brand idea of “Be More Quokka” a rallying cry to embrace spontaneity, play, and joy resulting in our cheeky Quokka character becoming any city’s unofficial guide. The visual identity balances playful character with a clean, bold and scalable system suited to digital platforms, campaigns, vouchers, or in-app experiences.

The whole brand was brought to life with lots of energy, bespoke typography, bold colours and lots of Aussie optimism.
